이번 스토어는 예스아이씨가 지금까지 아카이빙 해 온 그래픽 디자인을 3D 오브제로 확장하며, 우연히 생성된 형태를 물리적 공간에 시각화하는데 집중했습니다. 3D 모델링 과정에서 발생하는 서피스(surface) 터짐 현상이나 그래픽 왜곡처럼 일반적으로 ‘오류’로 인식되는 요소들에 영감을 받아 브랜드만의 시선으로 재해석하였습니다.
This store focused on expanding the graphic designs that YESEYESEE has archived over time into 3D objects, with an emphasis on visualizing accidental forms within the physical space. Inspired by elements typically perceived as “errors” such as surface tearing or graphic distortion that occur during the 3D modeling process these phenomena were reinterpreted through the brand’s unique perspective.
공간 곳곳에 배치된 집기들은 각각 [Y · E · S] 알파벳을 모티브로 설계되었습니다. 카운터는 알파벳을 평면적으로 추출(Extrude)한 형태로 제작되었으며, 중앙 오브제와 타워는 브랜드 아카이브 속 그래픽 히스토리를 시각적으로 구현한 결과물입니다. 서로 다른 형태의 알파벳들을 높이차를 두고 배치한 뒤, 이를 블렌딩하며 조합하는 과정에서 의도치 않게 생성된 조형들이 탄생했고, 같은 알파벳이지만 서로 다른 디자인 언어로 표현된 요소들이 한데 어우러지며, 예스아이씨가 지향하는 비정형적 미학을 입체적으로 드러냅니다.
The fixtures arranged throughout the space were each designed with the letters [Y · E · S] as their underlying motif. The counter was constructed by extruding the letterforms into flat, two-dimensional shapes, while the central object and tower serve as visual interpretations of the graphic history embedded within the brand’s archive. By arranging varied letterforms at different heights and blending them together, unexpected sculptural shapes emerged organically throughout the process. Though all derived from the same alphabet, each form reflects a distinct design language — and together, these elements converge to reveal the unconventional, multidimensional aesthetics that YESEYESEE strives to express.
또한 컴퓨터 렌더링 과정에서 다양한 재질이 투영되는 방식에 주목하여, 이를 현실에서는 수전사(hydrographics) 기법을 통해 구현했습니다. 필름이 늘어나거나 퍼지는 현상은 흔히 ‘불량’으로 간주되지만, 우리는 이러한 요소들을 적극적으로 수용함으로써 디지털상 '오류'를 아날로그 방식으로 표현하였습니다.
The process also focused on how various materials are projected during computer rendering, and this was translated into the physical space through the technique of hydrographics (water transfer printing). While film stretching or spreading is regarded as a “defect,” we actively embraced these elements, translating what is seen as a digital “error” into an analog expression.
공간 디자인 역시 동일한 조형적 언어를 따릅니다. 테라조(terazzo) 바닥에 삽입된 사선의 금줄은 3D 툴 속 그리드를 상징하며, 로우 폴리(low-poly) 형태의 어닝, 왜곡된 텍스처, 소실점이 어긋난 정면 구성, 그리고 조각난 카운터 등은 모두 ‘불완전함’과 ‘우연성’에서 비롯된 결과물입니다. 이러한 접근은 예스아이씨 특유의 언어와 방향성을 공간 전반에 자연스럽게 투영하며, 브랜드 정체성을 입체적으로 구현하는데 목적이 있습니다.
The spatial design follows the same sculptural language. The diagonal gold lines embedded in the terrazzo floor symbolize the grid within 3D tools, while the low-poly awning, distorted textures, misaligned vanishing points on the façade, and fragmented counter are all outcomes derived from notions of “imperfection” and “chance.” This approach aims to naturally reflect YESEYESEE’s unique language and direction throughout the space, giving three-dimensional form to the brand’s identity.
